LIFE SUPPORT:
May Be Dismantled
(3 points)

by Dave Van Domelen

The character can survive being taken apart into reasonably large (how large is up to the GM) pieces. A location for the brain/CPU must be defined, and pieces no longer in direct contact with that location become inactive unless a separate power is bought to animate them (such as Telekinesis).

This power provides no means to reassemble the character, nor to heal any damage which caused the separation. Without the purchase of additional powers, the missing parts must be attached mechanically, such as with stitches, bolts or welding.

If purchased for cyborg parts only, the power may take a Focus limitation based on how easy it is to identify and remove the parts. An Accessible Focus may not be combined with the Disadvantage below.

Physical Limitation: Easily Dismantled

The points gained for this Character Disadvantage depend on how easily you want it to be to dismantle the character.

The character, who must have LS: May Be Dismantled, can be broken apart by anyone who knows how to accomplish it, without having to inflict BODY on the character. In addition, any attack which does BODY will automatically remove a body part. If "Fully Limiting" is taken, then when the brain is separated from the power source (player must define separate locations for both), the character is reduced to 0 STUN and may not recover STUN until the brain and power source are reunited.

Remote Limbs

Buy Telekinesis equal to STR. The special effect is limbs that act on their own. If the limbs can fly, leave it at that. Otherwise, take the -1/2 Limitation "Only versus targets on ground near location of limbs," with the special effect of the limbs being able to slowly move about the map (maybe a hex per phase for hands, a hex per turn for legs and arms). Player should buy LS: May Be Dismantled if there is actual physical separation involved.

Other powers may be bought to simulate more subtle (or disgusting) applications of remote limbs, such as an NND based on sending a finger into someone's windpipe (a la the Nowhere Man in Animal Man) or Combat Levels in DCV-only to represent becoming a cloud of hard to hit body parts.
