This is a Space Opera campaign, run using a slightly modified version of the HERO (5th Ed) roleplaying system.
The milieu is largely taken from the galaxy as presented in the five books of the Demon Princes series by Jack Vance, one of my all-time favourite authors in any genre. I have made a few changes to the milieu here and there, but not too many. To get a real feel for the way the universe works, I recommend that you read the series:
I've incorporated some ideas from elsewhere — for example, the Jump Drive from the Traveller game, and also some elements from Vance's other Gaean Reach novels.
On this site I will present background information so that players can create useable, fun characters. I'll also present any House Rules we'll be using, with explanations of how they work. I'll also attempt to keep up to date with the Game Diary, but I can't make any promises there.
