Zac Smith grew up in Kansas, the son of a smallholder. He was a bit of a charmer and a hellraiser, his parents were glad when he decided to join the Army Air Corps in 1918.
He served briefly in France, but gradually drifted further east, ending up in Hong Kong in the early twenties, and "accquired" his first flying boat. Since then he's been busy, running guns to Chiang Kai Shek (and Mao Tse Tung), smuggling opium, rescuing the odd damsel in distress (and, incidentally, distressing the odd damsel).
Zac's kid brother Ezekiel ("call me Easy E-Z, gettit?") is a real hopeless case, a small time hustler who gets into trouble. Occasionaly Zac has to bail him out of Real Trouble, it was during just such a time that he made Contact with Mr Liu, the triad boss. Unfortunately this particular set of dealings left rival Hong Kong triads with an unhealthy interest in Zacs affairs, they keep an eye on him, and he keeps an eye on them....
Zac's pride and joy - his Junkers floatplane
Despite a chequered past, his word is, generally speaking, his bond. And he will back up his friends in a tight corner...
