Technical Pen and Watercolour Gouache
I'm a great admirer of the Russian artist, Bilibin. His illustrations to the bylinya of Kiev were superb, and still stand as some of the best storybook illustrations ever crafted. This was a title-page I did after seeing some of his work, and though hopelessly inferior to it, I still quite like it. If I were going to do it again, I'd choose a better paper since the stuff I did this on didn't accept the paint particularly well. Hey-ho.
