I really like oil paints. I like the texture and the smell, and I like the long working time. One thing you have to be careful of though, is that reds take a long, long time to skin over, and if you assume they're dry when they're actually not, and you try to scan the picture, you will end up with blobs of red oil paint all over the platen of your scanner, and you will have a bugger of a time trying to get it clean and streak-free again. Just saying, is all.
